DTH Performance Report for October 2023

It’s time for DTH Performance Report for the month of October. Starting with Tata Play maintaining its leadership with a massive addition of 13 channels, followed by Airtel Digital TV with 7 new channels and the removal of 2 channels. On the other hand, Dish TV introduced only 1 channel but at the cost of removing 4 channels. D2H also added only 1 channel but removed 2 channels while DD Free Dish removed 1 channel and added none.

Tata Play

Tata Play has introduced 13 new channels on its platform. This remarkable list contains both Standard Definition (SD) and High Definition (HD) channels namely Jay Jagannath, Sidharth Gold, Raapchik, Unique TV, Desh News, Vijay Super HD, Pravah Picture HD, Star Kiran HD, Asianet Movies HD, Nazara, Zee Thirai HD, &Xplor HD, and lastly Zee Picchar HD which is an exclusive channel. &Xplor HD wasn’t added on Tata Play for many years and was exclusively available on Airtel Digital TV.

These additions come with the removal of 1 channel from the platform named Atrangii. Furthermore, Tata Play’s Jingalala Offers during weekends have been a jackpot of happiness among its subscribers by providing High Definition (HD) and Standard Definition (SD) channels, packs, and platform Services for Re. 1 for a month. Tata Play also started offering Star Sports 1 SD for free to all new customers.

Airtel Digital TV

Airtel Digital TV made several good adjustments throughout October month. The platform welcomed 7 channels – Swaraj Express, Jantantra TV, Airtel Marathi Home 1 (Service Channel), Malai Murasu Seithikal, Vertent Samachar Plus, Vijay Super HD, and Zee Zest HD.

Zee Zest HD was launched in September 2017 as Living Foodz HD and the addition of this channel on Airtel Digital TV was long overdue. The channels which now stand removed from Airtel Digital TV platform are Atrangii and News India 24×7.

Dish TV and D2H

Dish TV added only one channel named PikMAX but removed four channels namely Udaya TV, Surya TV, Sree Disha Bhakti, and Atrangii. Dish TV customers also witnessed an increase in the price of the Budget Pack. Apart from this, under the new ‘Recharge Offer’, the company is offering Star Sports 1 for free for 3 months on recharges of more than 2 months. D2H, on the other hand, added one platform service channel named Jeet ka Safar and removed Atrangii and Santwani from its platform.

DD Free Dish

The state-owned, Free-to-air satellite television provider DD Free Dish removed MH1 Dil Se from its platform in October month. MH One Dil Se is a Bhojpuri music channel that was launched on 14 February 2022, it is owned by MH One TV Network. DD Free Dish did not add any channel during this period.
