DTH Performance Report for December 2023

As the first month of the new year begins let’s analyze the performance of Direct-to-home (DTH) operators for the month of December 2023. Tata Play started off with an impressive addition of 5 channels, followed by Airtel Digital TV with 3 new channels. Dish TV added 1 channel and there was no addition or removal made by D2H.

Tata Play

Maintaining the lead, Tata Play has added 5 channels to its platform. The additions made by Tata Play include 4 HD and 1 SD channels namely DD National HD, DD India HD, Sun Bangla HD, Sun Marathi HD, and 6TV. All the channels are Free-to-Air (FTA) which means that active subscribers can watch these channels without any charges.

In December, Tata Play hasn’t removed a single channel from its platform. Besides their regular Jingalala Offers which subscribers enjoy a lot, Tata PLay has also started offering all their service channels for Re. 1 for the first month.

Airtel Digital TV

Airtel Digital TV has made 3 new channels available on their platform. The list contains India Ahead, Lakshya TV, and Airtel Playlist (Service Channel). India Ahead, and Lakshya TV are Free-to-Air channels while Airtel Playlist is a pay channel. On the other hand, Airtel Digital TV removed a service channel called Airtel Hits from its platform.

Dish TV and D2H

Dish TV has welcomed only 1 channel named Ashirwad Herbal which is a teleshopping channel and has not removed any channel. Dish TV offered service channels for Re.1 for the first 7 days. Dish TV has made Colors TV available for free only for Dish TV (SES-8) customers.

D2H has not added or removed any channel from its platform. The operator also offered service channels for Re.1 for the first 7 days. Apart from this, Under the new “Christmas special offer”, the company is offering its HD Set Top Box for Rs. 636 excluding the pack price.

Sun Direct

Sun Direct has started a new offer “Tamil Joy Pack Recharge Offer” under which customers who have deactivated their connection for 30 days or more will get Tamil Joy Pack at Rs.999 for 6 months with additional 6 months free and at Rs.598 for 3 months with additional 3 months free.
