Prasar Bharati on Friday announced the results of the 41st online E-Auction held for its MPEG-2 slots. Manoranjan Grand, Zingaat, and Skystar Telugu have been awarded MPEG-2 slots on DD Free Dish post the auction. Manoranjan Grand is a Hindi GEC and was part of Bucket A+. Zingaat and Skystar Telugu are Hindi Movie channels and were part of Bucket A.
Manoranjan Grand has only last week started its feed on Insat 4A. Zingaat which earlier was a Marathi channel has been shut down for a while and will be coming back in a new avatar. Skystar Telugu had earlier won a MPEG-4 slot
Prasar Bharati had on 31st July invited applications from satellite channels for allotment of MPEG-2 slots of DD Free Dish DTH platform for the period from 16 August to 29 February 2020 on a pro-rata basis.
All buckets of channels were open to bidding for slots with the price set. August 7 had been set as the last date for submission of applications within e-Auction set the next day if needed.
