The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has approved a total of thirty-four MSO applications in the month of October according to the statistics provided by the ministry.
According to the statistics, the number of MSO applications received by the ministry in October was 15. The total number of MSO applications received from May 2019- October 2019 at the end of October stood at 133 up by 15 from 118 at the end of September.
The ministry approved 34 MSO applications in the month of October. In September 15 MSO applications had been approved whereas in August only 1 MSO application had been approved.
The number of MSO applications pending with the ministry at the end of October was 99. The total number of MSO applications pending from May 2019- October 2019 at the end of October stood at 99 down by 1 from 100 at the end of September.

DreamDTH had a few weeks back reported that the Ministry had granted new licenses to more than 100 MSOs in the last 2 years since 31 October 2017. The number of registered MSOs as of 24 October 2019 stood at 1568.
