The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) last month revoked the permission of ‘Sarthi’ for its non-operational status. According to the Ministry, the revoking of permission took place on 29th July 2021 with MIB terming the reason for cancellation of the license as ‘Non-Payment of Annual Permission Fees and Non-Operational Status’.
KCB Builders & Developers Limited was initially granted the TV channel license on 16th August 2016 for operating a ‘NON-NEWS’ category channel named ‘Sarthi’. The channel had uplink and downlink permission with the mandate to operate in English, Hindi, Punjabi & All India Languages. The channel was initially beamed from INSAT 4-B.

The Ministry recently cancelled two satellite TV channel licenses namely TV 7/ TV3 HEALTH PLANET and CGTN. V 7/TV3 HEALTH PLANET owned by Comsat System Private Limited got its TV license cancelled on 1st July 2021 with MIB marking the license as ‘Not Required’. MIB separately has cancelled the license of Chinese state media CGTN on 13th June 2021 with the reason marked as ‘Not Required’.
