The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) recently has okayed the launch of around 6 TV channels. The Ministry has accorded approval for launching Good News Today, ABP Desam, Zee Josh, Goldmines, Goldmines Hindi, and Goldmines Movies through fresh TV channel license and renaming of existing TV channel license.
The Ministry on 22nd July 2021 granted three new fresh TV channel licenses to Goldmines Telefilms Private Limited namely Goldmines, Goldmines Hindi, and Goldmines Movies. The trio licenses have been granted in the ‘NON-NEWS’ category with uplinking and downlinking permission. The company has bagged permission to broadcast in Hindi, English, and all other Indian schedule languages and will air from GSAT-30.

The Ministry separately in July 2021 accorded approval for the renaming of Aaj Tak Tez and ABP Andhra to make way for Good News Today and ABP Desam respectively. The Ministry additionally in May 2021 accorded approval for the renaming of Big Magic as Zee Josh.
