Tata Sky adds new options to its WhatsApp service

This service was launched in May 2018 with just 2 options- Add and Drop a channel but Tata Sky has been continuously updating it widen its capabilities of account changes.

India’s leading DTH operator Tata Sky has added 4 new commands on its WhatsApp service to make account modifications easier and quicker, first spotted by DreamDTH.

Now using WhatsApp, Tata Sky subscribers can add ‘Showcase’ channels by messaging “SC”, ‘Active’ services by sending “Active Services”, update registered mobile number by using command “RMN” and modify registered Email address by sending code “Email” from their current registered mobile number to +91 1800 208 6633 on WhatsApp.

This service was launched in May 2018 with just 2 options- Add and Drop a channel but Tata Sky has been continuously updating it widen its capabilities of account changes. In August DreamDTH reported that 5 new options were added in WhatsApp, now with this latest addition total 12 different commands can be used.

To activate communication through WhatsApp you can give a missed call to 92296-92296 (Free) or SMS “WHATSAPP” to 56633 from the registered mobile number (applicable charges applied). Alternatively, enable it by going to logging into Tata Sky website or app and going to Account > Profile > Edit Profile.

  1. Is there any plan of tatasky to add &explore HD new pure Hindi movie channel from zee network,this channel is available at Airtel dry and dish tv why not on tatasky which is charging higher premium for services

    • No, you cannot add &xplor HD, it’s not available on Tata Sky and there is no information yet about the addition of this channel on the platform. This channel is also not available on Dish TV or any other DTH platform except Airtel.

      Channel addition requires the consent of both broadcaster and operator, it seems like ZEEL don’t want &xplor HD to be widely available because it is only available only on Airtel Digital TV, Fastway and GTPL.
