112 MSO license pending with I&B Ministry at April end

The Ministry approved six licenses in March 2020 whereas in April 2020 it approved 2 licenses only.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) is sitting on 112 Multi-System Operator (MSO) license applications as on April 30, 2020, according to the monthly performance statistics revealed by the Ministry.

The Ministry approved six licenses in March 2020 whereas in April 2020 it approved 2 licenses only. The permitted MSO License Master database remains unpublished for both the months due to the coronavirus. The number of MSO licenses approved between Aug 2019 – April 2020 stand at 89.

The Ministry received 6 new MSO license applications in March 2020 whereas in April 2020 it received 2 new MSO license applications. The number of MSO license applications received between April 2019 – April 2020 stood at 201.

The number of MSO licenses pending with the Ministry stood still across Feb 2020 – April 2020 at 112 licenses. In January 2020, the Ministry was sitting on 114 licenses whereas, in December 2020, the Ministry was sitting on 116 licenses.

In other news, The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) is sitting on 68 TV license applications that have been pending with the Ministry for more than a month at the end of Quarter 4, FY 19-20, according to the performance statistics provided by it.
