Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is sitting on 40 Satellite TV applications from 01 October 2018 and 30 June 2019 according to the statistics provided by the ministry. The ministry is also sitting on 107 MSO applications from 01 January 2019 to 31 August 2019.
According to the statistics, the number of pending TV application with MIB at the end of Q1 2019-20 stood at 40 compared to 14 channels at the end of Q4 2018-19.41 TV channels applications were pending at the end of Q3 2018-19.
The number of pending TV application with other ministries at the end of Q1 2019-20 stood at 23 compared to 12 at the end of Q4 2018-19. 21 TV applications were pending at the end of Q3 2018-19.
The number of pending TV application with the applicant at the end of Q1 2019-20 stood at 13 compared to 26 at the end of Q4 2018-19. 1 TV application was pending at the end of Q3 2018-19.
The number of pending MSO applications with MIB at the end of August 2019 stood at 107 compared to 105 MSOs at the end of July 2019. 97 MSOs’ applications were pending at the end of June 2019. The ministry approved only one MSO application last month.
The number of received MSO applications with MIB at the end of August 2019 stood at 110 compared to 107 MSOs at the end of July 2019. 99 MSOs’ applications were received at the end of June 2019.
