India’s official TRP agency BARC India yesterday shared data on the advertising volume on Television for the month of January 2021 in comparison to January 2020 and January 2019. BARC India’s official data revealed a 23 percent growth Y-o-Y over 2020 and a 19 percent growth Y-o-Y over 2019.
The uplift of 23 percent in advertisement volumes in January (Week 1 – Week 4) 2021 vs 2020 is the highest in the past three years with increment seen across genres with Kids genre seeing the highest growth rate followed by Music and Movies.
The advertisement volumes in million seconds saw a Y-o-Y growth of 23% in GEC, 18% in News, 28% in Movies, 31% in Music, and 35% in Kids. The total advertisement volumes in million seconds stood at 133 million seconds in January 2021.
