Direct to Home (DTH) Airtel Digital TV’s subscriber base rose from 16.8 million at the end of Q1 FY 21 to hit 17.4 million customers at the end of Q2 FY 21, Bharti Airtel stated today in its financial results for the quarter ending September 30, 2020. The net additions increased by 143% compared to the preceding quarter wherein it added 226K new customers.
Airtel Digital TV’s total revenues in Q2 FY 21 stood at Rs 7,548 million, down from Rs 7,893 million in Q1 FY 21. EBIDTA stood at Rs 5,351 million, down from Rs 5,607 million in the preceding quarter.
Airtel Digital TV’s ARPU remained stable at Rs 148 as compared to Rs 149 in the preceding quarter. The monthly churn stood at 1.5%, up from 1.3% at the end of Q1 FY 21.
Airtel Digital TV seeded 594K new customers to its portfolio in Q2 FY 21. The subscriber on a Q-on-Q basis grew by 3.3% while on a Y-o-Y basis it grew by 7.3%. The net additions on a Q-o-Q basis grew by an impressive 143.1% while on a Y-o-Y basis grew by 204%,
The company witnessed a growth of 1.9% YoY on an underlying basis on the back of the strong customer additions as it continued to expand its channel portfolio along with tie-ups with educational institutions to broadcast classes to students to ensure education is not disrupted.
