CNN’s ‘Reconnect’ is set to delve into the rich and diverse nation through the eyes and dishes of India’s culinary pioneers in a 30 minute special this month. An international community of Indian chefs is championing the many tastes of India from afar by brining the food of their hometowns to some of the world’s finest restaraunts.

For chef Palash Mitra food has become a way to celebrate heritage from afar as this year’s festivities have been forced to go virtual. He has been serving up Kolkata traditions to a whole new audience in his Michelin-starred restaurant in Hong Kong.

Chef Jassi Singh meanwhile is bringing the fresh philosophy to his family of restaurants by serving up dishes that pay homage to his relatives and village upbringing in Melbourne.

Check Kuldeep Negi learnt his craft from the colorful food and spice stalls of the centuries old Chandni Chowk market who is in today’s time keeping the essence live in Singapore through his renowned restaurant.

Chef Deepanker Khosla who has a sustainable restaurant in the heart of Bangkok has started serving up his signature biryani to 15 different communities each day as the pandemic put restaurant dining on pause.

The show airs on CNN on Saturday, December 26 at 4:30pm IST and Sunday, December 27 at 10.30pm IST.
