2 GEC never worked in Indian market. Somehow, Sony managed to maintain 2 GEC but failed to bring Sony PAL as 3rd GEC and it became a rerun channel.

Zee also maintaning 2 GEC now as &TV is also thier channel only, Star has Star Bharat, Sony has Sab.

Star Bharat is a disaster, I don't know how it's still on air. &TV is below average channel with only about Bhabhiji and its reruns. These two channels have kept luxury prices as if they are showing top notch content.

Only Sony SAB as 2nd GEC is successful and is present in the Top 10 in Barc data.

True Star Bharat only shows savdhaan India and give different ideas to ppl on how to commit crimes, idk why this is on air and who watches it, bhabiji can be moved to zee tv and zee can shutdown &tv, no one will even notice since bhabhiji will be on zee tv

That's why AXN was also shutdown despite being the #1 entertainment channel. I still miss the channel.

True but they sold their Ten Channels to Sony, they have also shutdown few channels not that much, like I remeber there was a channel called Zee next and it was shutdown 1 year within of its launch, it was around 2007-08

It did shutdown because of low ratings and no investors, I still remember it used to telecast English movies ( had some exclusive library)dubbed in Hindi

When Star was greedy charging ₹75 for latest content from US on just two DTH providers. Zee offered everything on basic cable. I use to watch The Big Bang Theory and The Middle on Zee Cafe every Sunday. They also dared to air uncut uncensored shows. They even gave proper rerun to popular shows. The only thing I don't like about them is not mentioning episode numbers. Anyhow congratulations to one of the best English Entertainment channels. I recall siblings watching The Big Bang Theory here long before it was famous. I personally started watching Just For Laughs Gags as a kid.

Remember zee MGM? It used to telecast uncensored movies, the kind of movies which Will never be telecasted on channels now, be it sensual, erotic or violent Zee MGM could be compared with Netflix , the things changed when Sharmila Tagore became the Censor board president

AXN was sold by Sony to KC global media and they no longer had rights to broadcast AXN that is why it was shut down along with low ratings after covid and users moving out to OTT, everything contributed
