I think Bhavan wanted to say about the footprints .. it will differ from location to another location.. signals will vary from location to location if its in the lower footprint area.. .

But, I have a doubt, regarding the distance from sat. thing u said at ur place..... as in my opinion, satellites are geostationary objects, which means, at any point on d earth, a satellite will always appear to be stationary... bcoz both earth and satellite will rotate with same uniform speed.

Signals can get weak, due to other reasons:

Changing weather conditions, sometimes nights wud be more misty etc.
Obstructions
Improper alignments.
Fluctuations in transmitter power etc...

No Relationship Between The Signal Loss And Sat Distance,

Signal Loss Happens Due To Bad Weather, Sun Outage,

BTW Footprints Takes An Important Place In Getting Signal,,,,,,,,,,,

Cant check as I m using D2H ri8 now.

But wants to see ATN Bangla, ATN News, NTV etc Bangladeshi Channels...
