Sony Mix is already on freedish & present in lowest sony bouquets too. Most DPO packs hv it. Music lovers like it. Ranks in top 5. Still Channel like sony pal/wah can survive but not mix? Seems laughable argument. By your logic all ranking below 5 should shut down due to low subscription.

Actually then whats the reason for shutdown if its profitable in terms of profits/rating.It cannot be. if Merger is happening then why not other channels shutdown. Axe always falls on the weak link first. Being in lower packs does not imply you don't need to pay DPO/operators.It is more difficult to push through.Sony Rox HD suffered the same fate as it never came on many operators due to price issue. Music genre as a whole falls way below other genres in terms of sustainment.By the way E24 starts airing movies and Mtunes+ is still to beam officially.

Wrong. There is huge chunk opting for standalone route as stated in recent articles too. Also those opting for lower customised or broadcaster bouquet will also get basic chs like Sony Mix. This is very popular channel and subscription numbers is not issue, they r shutting shop bcoz of merger happening soon with Network18. Also Sony Mix worked average in urban or pay tv platforms but on Free Dish it was not doing well as evident in ratings. Must have been 70:30 ratio and this also meant not able to leverage on both fronts

The fact remains most of the subscribers barring few opt for channels beyond the packages then why TRAI has gone for relook on the prices and entire framework they had implemented which was a total failure with FTA channels struggling to survive and broadcasters with deep pockets dumping the channels.
