Without a doubt, Rajinikanth ‘s Kabali was one of the biggest hits of 2016. Prior to the release, the movie created a frenzy like never before. The Kabali mania had gone global after all it was Thalaiva’s movie. And we believe some of the mania continues as the movie is set for a grand release in Thailand on Janaury 5, 2017. Yes, that’s right. After releasing in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malay ( it also released in Japan and China) it’s now releasing in Thai as well! In fact it will be the first Tamil movie to release in Thailand. Reportedly the makers have signed on an agreement with a popular distribution house based in Thailand. According to reports, the film will hit more than 100 screens.

Reportedly the decision to screen the movie in Thailand comes after the Thai Princess met Rajinikanth in October and informed the superstar of his major fan following. In fact according to reports, her Royal Highness helped Thalaiva shot some scene of the movie in Thailand. When the movie hit theatres on July 22, it went on to release in about 4000 screens across the world. The movie was without exaggeration a global phenomenon that everyone wanted to be part of. When the teaser had released, it tripled the excitement of a Rajinikanth movie. Suddenly there was Kabali merchandise, special food menus and flash mobs, all created just for the movie. The Rajinikanth frenzy was for everyone to see. Believe it or not, the release day was declared a holiday in some parts of India. Now that can happen only with a Rajinikanth film.

The managed to collect Rs 320 crore worldwide. It starred Radhika Apte, Dhansika among others. Cosnidering the huge fan following he has in Thailand, we can expect the frenzy to repeat itself what say?

In other news, Rajinikanth is busy with the dubbing process for his upcoming film – 2.0. This high budget sci-fi film will Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in a thrilling face off. While Rajiniaknth returns as Dr Vasee garan, chitti, Akshay Kumar makes his debut as the villain in his first Tamil film. The movie also stars Amy Jackson. The first look was held in a grand launch on November 20, 2016. The three posters were received phenomenally. The movie is set for a Diwali 2017 release.
