But Reliance & Tata JV is very hard to co exist as well as Reliance need dominance in all the business they take part (ie atleast 51% share).I feel that merger is not needed.
Disney selling its stake to the new JV (Viacom+star India) is a much better business plan.
With this they can even increase their share holding from 30% to more, which will help the majority company (Tata) in a way.
I feel Tata should not exit this business in anyway but get aboard like minded companies like the ones mentioned above to invest and be partners in the business.
Merger with only lead to consolidation.
Also Reliance is in the fibre way, probably they will not show interest in DTH buisness. So I think the merged entity also try to plug out shares from Tata Play.
I am against Airtel & Tata Play merger. Both are performing well & unique. There should be choices for people. Otherwise the current situation of telecom will occur.
Tata need to find some one stronger but not in the field. May Adani who looks to expand his empire buy the whole company
NB: Reliance becoming the final destination for everybody's search of merger, stake sell, JV is not good for diversity.
