There is other side of this story also. Portability should not be limited in DTH, what about digital cable ?
Now if one has to pay Rs 5000 only for STB from open market then no one will buy it, analog cable is much better option. At least we can connect as many Tv set we want at no cost.

So subsidized stb is much better option which you can get at Rs 1000 - 1500. Now on subsidised box you obviously cannot claim the ownership so no portability :k
