Reach and availability also matter. Even if the content on these new channels is good, they will not get viewership ratings if it doesn't reach all the households across all categories

Zee Yuva has bad ratings but Sony Marathi has even worse. For that matter most people are saying negative things about Zee Keralam's shows. Despite Sony Marathi's growing movie library it is not able to get good ratings. I wonder whether Zee Keralam will suffer that fate.

But my original question: why does Adithya TV have such high ratings? It shows nothing but comedy clips from movies. No proper shows.

Zee Keralam will find a space in top 5.But it can't enter quickly as of now.Because after the launch the channel is not getting much good reviews. Except 2 remake serials all other programs are average. Nothing fresh and already tried by others(DKD yet to come). But unlike Sony or Colors,Zee will not sit in a corner with what they got first. Zee is aggressive in making a better space for them in regional market(it is clear if we check other regional languages).They will go with the current lineup some months, if no progress happens they will change their strategy. But one thing is sure that currently their lineup and movies(quality not quantity) are insufficient.

Kannada is the only market where the market leader is resisting the assertive Zee which easily conquered Bangla market, and ousted Star to reach second spot in Tamil. Star should learn from Colors Kannada.
