Guys today my xstream air fibre connection installed with dth.. I got xstream 4 box
Here is my first day usage or review -
Pros:
1. Super fast UI and navigation, binge+ is simply no match!
2. Excellent hd channels quality and colors are true to natural in normal mode (non HDR)
3.Sound quality is great, literally my cupboard mirror started rattling again
4. Remote looks cute and premium
5 . Channel switch super fast due to 3 digit lcn
Cons:
1. Poor sd channel quality, the sd channels of binge+ box is 20-30% better than airtel xstream, it's more like the hevc box but in the past when I was using the min 100 model, that had excellent quality.
2. Fav channel system is worst .. literally there is none..you mark a channel as fav and they appear in homescreen only but other than that can't utilize it, I wish they had implemented fav mode and normal mode since dedicated lcn not present..also they need to add the feature to skip unsubscribed channels...adding dedicated lcn for fav could be a major game changer for airtel!
3. Audio : I am not getting Dolby audio If connected through tv
Stb > soundbar > tv -->Dolby
Stb > TV > soundbar (arc) > no Dolby , only pcm in pass through mode
If someone could help me I will be grateful.
4. In the past I saw some pictures wherein there was option to adjust picture brightness ,sharpness etc in the stb and also to turn on/off HDR, but sadly I have searched the entire UI but I don't see them, so did they remove from xstream 4? Please guide
5. If hdmi cec is enabled and someone watching a channel, now if you accidentally press any key on tv remote it is going to the tv app/setting , now if you come back again to the dth , it is not playing the channel rather going to home screen..they seriously need to fix this..it should remember I was watching tv channel not your homescreen
6. Post boot instead of going to home channel it goes to the xstream home app, either they need to fix it like binge+ or add an option to either go to homescreen or home channel.
