In general, every app company release their version app (Netflix , prime, zee5, Sonylive ect.) per OS, for example Android os, webOS , fireOS , ect.. , then STB box company ( say Airtel, Tata, fire stick, apple) based their OS and need to support features ( say Dolby Atmos, Dolby vision, HDR+ ) , theen they design their Hardware, then test and release? This is my understanding, do you think any other process?
XStream Box does support dolby vision but as i mentioned on custom made OTT apps for various DTH Smart Boxes, there r certain limitations as far as availability of such features across various content is concerned bcoz of different technical or contract/licensing or agreement related issues including keeping costs under check
You will always find such feature support variations across different content in different OTT apps available for Smart TV vs those made available for DTH Smart Android Boxes wherein due to above reasons / limitations one may not get exact similarly hence i said that customization is done
Dolby Atmos for Audio - this is seperate tesing and approvel and payment to Dolby org
Dolby Vision for Video - this is seperate tesing and approvel and payment to Dolby org
Yes I know, Airtel has mentioned only Dolby Atmos not Dolby Vision. Which one is India's first Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos set top box Sun Direct Max or Airtel Xstream?
No way, Dolby Atmos is latest technology in sound and Dolby Vision is in picture, If Airtel has license for Dolby Vision they definitely advertise the feature.
