The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) will soon launch a full-time news channel (Channel IBC) and a production unit in the State. Party State general secretary P.K. Kunhalikutty told a press conference here on Thursday that the channel would operate under the name Channel IBC (Independent Broadcasting Council).

Mr. Kunhalikutty said the channel based here would initially be available in the MPEG-4 format for cable television subscribers.

In the second phase, it would be converted into a satellite channel for reaching Malayalis across the world.

He said the channel would focus on the development of minority segments and the progress of society.

Channel IBC (Independent Broadcasting Council)is a 24-hour Malayalam news channel supported by the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML). The promoting company (KeDS Communication Private Limited)is headquartered in Kozhikode. The channel would initially be available in the MPEG-4 format for cable television subscribers. In the second phase, it would be converted into a satellite channel for reaching Malayalis across the world.

The new channel would focus on the development of minority segments and the progress of society in general. It is the need of the hour to tap the scope of visual media in communicating the activities of a dynamic political party to the masses in a transparent way.The channel would always uphold and maintain the values and ethics of true journalism. The medium will give more attention to discussions, which can reflect the entity and culture of the Malabar region.
