D2H has improper program guide

mr.raviteja.. what is the issue made by the thread starter is, some channels EPGs shows EGP of previous channels.this is the blunder mistake my d2h.what u told is correct.but the actual problem is this

well he has also mentioned TBA tht means the EPG is not updated and the EPG is controlled by the DTH company and regarding the EPG of A In channel B it is due to poor software which DTH uses. So both the ways it is DTH companies fault not broadcasters fault

So If they dont have info about the movie name they just say Movie.

Even I have seen EPG saying another movie name but another movie is telecasting mostly because They changed the movie that to be aired and D2H didnt get that info so it happen..

I rarely see it...Most of the time it gives correct info (at least for me)

My point on channel prgm or movie name change, with an example as below I noticed few days back

"Warner Bros" was broadcasting movie "final destination 3", English movie. Same time "Star Vijay" tamil channel was broadcasting a "tamil movie", but "final destination 3" was appearing as movie name in "Star Vijay" and vice-versa...

This is one example, similarly with other channels also I have noticed..:lol

Even i am noticing the incorrect EPG on d2h. I finally got very frustrated and called my brother-in-law who was working in d2h till last year. In fact he only had convinced me to buy d2h.

He told me that the d2h EPG has gone incorrect and wrong because their agreement with the EPG company Whatsonindia expired in december 2012.

So I checked the whatsonindia site { Welcome to What's On India } and i found that d2h is no longer a client of theirs. All the other DTH operators get their EPG from whatsonindia.

i guess that explains why the quality at d2h has gone so bad suddenly :-(

d2h give huge channels in base pack, so not matter for epg , i think. it is call cost control.

The link you have sent is the channel lineup that Whatsonindia is reporting for all operators. Doesnt mean that videocond2h is a client of whatson.

Even DD-Direct channel lineup is mention on whatsonindia site [ 404 - File or directory not found.[FREE_2_AIR].aspx ]

But we all know DD Direct does not have EPG.

What I have posted is something I have confirmed from D2H employee directly. Pls do not make accusations that I am trying to defame D2H.

And if videocon d2h had good Epg then this post would not have been necessary. the fact is that even today i am seeing good EPG on tata sky and bad one on d2h. :-(
