no brother,it is only power transmission.50 Hz is lower than 60Hz power.in abroad we have not use our mobile or laptop 3 or 2 pin charges,we have to carry 3 pin adopter for connecting our electronic devices.you can use any 50/60 Hz device,if that device can connectable at our Indian standard electricity connection point.nothing to worry, check is it connectable if yes it is 50/60 Hz product,it can internally upgrade or downgrade the power.

Plz Correct me if i am Wrong...

in D2h 1080i 50HZ and 1080i 60HZ both Present...

in NTSC ( US BASED) will show Colour if we keep in 60HZ.. it will go into Black and White in 50HZ...

if a TV Worksshows Colour For both 50 and 60HZ then the TV will Work in Tatasky HD too....

yes,it shows colors(not black & white) ,it can adapt any playback or video device.

50HZ/60HZ means Power ?
some one Correct Me
It is not power. It is the telecast of picture resolution and picture frame rate.I reproduce here under the specifications from the Sony manual for the model referred by you.
Video (2D): 1080p (30, 60 Hz), 1080/24p, 1080i (60 Hz), 720p (30, 60 Hz), 720/24p,
480p, 480i, PC Formats
Video (3D):
Frame Packing 1080p (30 Hz), 1080/24p, 1080i (60 Hz), 720p (30, 60 Hz), 720/24p
Side-by-Side 1080p (60 Hz), 1080/24p, 1080i (60 Hz), 720p (60 Hz)
Over-Under 1080p (30, 60 Hz), 1080/24p, 1080i (60 Hz), 720p (60 Hz)
Audio: Two channel linear PCM: 32, 44.1 and 48 kHz, 16, 20 and 24 bits, Dolby Digital
Analog audio input (stereo mini jack) (HDMI IN 2 only, common with PC IN)
Power is another issue for the devices bought in North America. Usually they take 110/120 volts @60Hz where as in India the electric power is 230volts@50Hz. Some equipment will have a switch to choose the power between 110/120 volts and 230/240 volts ( like my desktop PC brought from US)

frame rate is based on power supply(power giving energy to high speed process),so dont tell this is not power related.60 hz giving fast rotate count(frame per second 30),so it giving more clear and full screen display :)

Technically what you may be correct. But the present context is whether North American TVs which supports only NTSC signals work in India where the telecast is in PAL signals.Only D2h STB has the option of conversion.

I have been using D2h with NTSC HD TVs. Samsung LN46 A550 and Westinghouse TV. You need to set the HDMI output to 60Hz and that is the only thing required. I can confirm this 200% :)

Sorry. You are confusing 50Hz and 60Hz power supply to PAL and NTSC signals here. Here 50Hz or 60 Hz referred is frames per second and not frequency. TVs bought in US may support 230V/50Hz power supply but generally do not support PAL or SECAM signals.

Those TVs can work with HDMI signals with 60Hz signals. D2h STB does provide 60Hz out via HDMI.

When ever we talk about signal transmission in Hz "People" will think about power. We cannot convince him. Whenever I start my NTSC TV the the signal converter displays input as 720p/50HZ and out put as 720p/60HZ or 1080p/60hz as per our choice( Iam a Tatasky customer)
Since my NTSC TV is brought from US is compatible with 120volts and as the Electric power in India is 230 Volts I have ben using step down converter from 230/240volts to 110/120 volts. TV works with this for all videos/DVDs/BDs etc. but not Television Signal. For watching TV programmes signal converter is a must. Since D2h HD box is having the option , D2h customers need not add a signal converter and save Rs.4000/. let us see whether this will convince "people"
