Disney India to Replace Bindass Play With Disney International HD on 29th October

They Started Disney active on various dth but then thought of providing the contents by way of a HD channel which will be more lucrative for the broadcaster and more contents for the viewers.

Their plan is to get rid of every single nickelodeon american show in India that's why shows like Legend of Korra only show on Nick HD, and then shows like Sam and Cat on Teen Nick where hardly anyone has the channel, they don't want to get views and eventually get rid of them.

They can't be bothered to show these on Nick SD.

Disney International HD should NOT be considered as HD version of Disney Channel. It is like Star World Premiere HD, in that it is a separate channel which is available only in HD.
Clearly the program content is not aimed at kids as there is no animation. Rather, since they are showing original shows, this is a welcome and appreciated move to launch a special HD channel. :clap::clap: :clap:Channels like this showing alternative kinds of shows for non-adults (below 18) such as Da Vinci HD have failed. But Nick HD (the only HD kids channel in India, not counting Baby TV) airs nothing except Motu Patlu/Pakdam Pakdai, so it has become like Hindi movie channels which repeatedly air South movies. :angry:

They are even promoting this as a GEC when the teen shows air on every single other Disney Channel in the world. Why is the strategy in India completely different?

Disney Channel India aired these shows before until they started Doraemon. Now they just put all of these into a brand new channel hardly anyone will have

Disney International HD will cater to premium HD subscribers in Metros and Tier-1 cities.The channel will have a mix of TV shows and movies.

It will have 10 shows at launch and two movies including one big premiere during weekends. Most of the content on the channel has not been syndicated to any other broadcaster in India.

“Our prime-time will be from 6-8 pm when we launch our new shows followed by rewind featuring Disney classics. Movie slot is on Friday and Saturday at 8 pm. During weekends, we will have a lot of marathons and catch-up,” Maheshwari noted.

While admitting that launching an HD only feed will limit the reach of the platform, Maheshwari said that the network will consider a standard definition (SD) feed as well. We will see if over a period of time we can have SD feed. It will again be a parallel feed,” he stated.

Disney is in talks with distribution platforms to carry the channel in their HD packages.

The marketing campaign for the channel will be launched post-Diwali. The marketing will be platform-based like direct to home (DTH) platforms, however, it will also look at other platforms to reach out to its TG

Isn’t it better if it’s called Disney Channel HD, and maybe play these shows on Disney Channel SD from like 8pm? And then Disney Channel HD can have these live action shows as well as some Disney animated shows like Star vs. The forces of Evil.

There is no difference between SD version and HD version. Disney SEA SD is just HD feed in SD quality.
