Doordarshan to launch regional channel in Vijaywada

Doordarshan is likely to introduce a new regional
channel by the end of September in Vijaywada, as
per a report. Prasar Bharati is currently
upgrading the Doordarshan centre at Vijaywada.
Doordarshan had taken an initiative to upgrade
the existing facilities at Vijayawada which has a
150 square metre studio and a teleport satellite
uplinking facility.
Doordarshan operates over 21 channels the
country – two all India channels – DD National
and DD News, 11 regional language satellite
channels, four state networks, an International
channel, a sports channel and two political
channels – Rajya Sabha TV and Lok Sabha TV.
