ETV appoints S Divaakar as National Ad Sales Head for Kannada news channel
ETV has brought on board S Divaakar as National Advertising Sales Head for its Kannada news channel, which is set for launch in March 2014.
S Divaakar took charge from March 3, 2014 and is based in Bangalore. His mandate is to supervise the overall revenue growth at the national level.
Commenting on his move, Divaakar said, “There is tremendous growth in the Kannada news channel space, and ETV has credibility in the market. It’s a household name. There is a huge gap between the No. 1 and No. 2 channels. So, it will be great to work with the team and get to the desired position. I will be responsible for handling the business side of the channel.”
Divaakar has close to two decades of experience in the television industry. He began his career as a sales executive with Udaya TV, when the channel was launched in 1994. He has also worked with channels such as Gemini TV, Jaya TV, ETC, Zee Network, Sahara One, Filmy and TV9. His last stint was with Janasri TV.
