This deal is just plain stupid. Nobody knows these indy wrestlers. Most will ignore these one off events. Meanwhile AEW's tv rights is still up for grabs. AEW during dynamite is #1 trend in Google and Twitter in India.

Sony should also go for full NXT and Takeover rights. They had Rinku Singh debut just last week. He is sure bringing huge Indian viewers back. It's gonna be like The Khali Fever of 06.

I think SD isn't needed. Why waste bandwidth on downgrading something good that can be easily downgraded by operators?

I meant HD not required from broadcaster side unless there is content which deserves same, right now there r hardly few chs meeting this requirement . I would b happy if variety of international sports r covered on EuroSport alongwith giving HD Feed but neither this will happen or even if it does operators would not show interest to add HD feed. Bandwidth of operators is more of a concern

Pro Wrestling looks better in HD because of dim lights. So does Tour de France which has amazing scenery. And Football and Golf were meant to be enjoyed in HD.

Yes, but tell me how many operators will add such a channel unless carriage fee is paid which is not suited to broadcaster business model. Even if operators add it then will a broadcaster continue with such content mix for prolonged time, i do not think both the above things will happen or should i say feasible in India. There needs to sizeable audience for such sports or if it continues as niche category then people should pay adequate subscription. We can blame Star Sports for overplaying cricket but fact is they r compelled to do so for getting returns on investment. A multi sport channel is possible if either of sustainable business models come into play

Star Sports overpaid, period. Changing dynamic of sports business in this country.

There is a niche market for sports which dth can't ignore. It's not what majorities watches. Based on your logic channels like The Q and Fashion TV shouldn't exist on dth.
