‘Game of Thrones’ season 6 trailer shows ‘violence’ to come
The Lannisters send their regards — and their guards.
HBO released the first full trailer for the sixth season of “Game of Thrones” Wednesday, just weeks ahead of the April 24th premiere.
Set to a cover of “Wicked Game” James Vincent McMorrow, the one minute, 40 second trailer focuses heavily on the heavy-hearted Cersei (Lena Headey), reeling from the murder of her daughter and her naked walk of shame at the end of last season.
“Order your man to step aside or there will be violence,” says her cousin Lancel, now with the religious cult known as The Sparrows, in one scene.
Considering her man is a reanimated Mountain, she answers, “I choose violence.”
There is, however, still no definitive answer as to whether Jon Snow is alive or dead. Sure, there’s a short of the fan favorite’s corpse at the beginning of the trailer, but actor Kit Harington was spotted on the show’s set filming new scenes.
Critics will have to wait until April 24 to learn more, too. HBO has barred reviewers from seeing advanced screeners of “Game of Thrones” before any of the ten epsiodes air — a rarity in television business.
