Now Airtel XSteam OTT pack seems to be lot more value for money when compared to Tata Play Binge OTT packs. At Rs. 149 Airtel Digital TV is offering around 17 or 18 Apps and same can acceded across all devices/ modes (web/ mobile / fire stick / android box / Smart TV ) while though Tata Play Binge Packs start from Rs. 199 offering around 15 or 16 Apps but major downside is that by subscribing to this plan one can only access content on web or mobile platform. Next plan available under Tata Play Binge OTT subscription costs Rs. 249 offering few more apps and allowing streaming across all devices / modes.

If in near future when Airtel Digital TV adds more apps on Airtel XStream OTT Platform and even increases price to Rs. 200 still it would be lot cost effective and attractive to people as same will allow content to be viewed across all devices/ modes....if Airtel too changes policy and implements similar terms & conditions as Tata Play has implemented recently then both will offer similar offerings but until then Airtel XStream OTT App / Platform holds the edge.


Also Tata Play should try to offer Lionsgate Play and Sony Liv in Super OTT Plan which costs Rs. 249 rather than Mega OTT Plan Rs. 349.

Seems like Star Gold Thrills will launch as a separate new channel . UTV Action might continue for time being and later be brought under Star branding , this is likely to remain a channel dedicated to dubbed hollywood movies. Star Gold Thrills might primarily air bollywood and dubbed south indian movies belonging to action genre.

If at all UTV Action is being rebranded as UTV Action on 15th March then there should be a removal scroll running on it or maybe they will directly rebrand it. Still no update about whether current licence of UTV Action will be renamed as Star Gold Thrills or a separate or different channel licence will be used for it like is the case with Star Gold 2 HD , Star Gold Romance
