Hindi GECs launched 6 shows in Mar; IPL could slow down arrivals in Apr

There were six show launches on Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs) in March—four weekday series and two weekend shows.

As reported earlier by TelevisionPost.com, the month of February saw more show launches on Hindi GECs than the inaugural month of 2017. Eight shows were added in February compared to five in the preceding month. With this, the first quarter of 2017 saw 19 show launches on Hindi GECs.

With the popular Indian Premier League (IPL) starting from 5 April, prime-time show launches on Hindi GECs could slow down during the T20 playing window.

MUMBAI: A day before the release of the action thriller film ‘Fast and Furious 8’, Sony PIX is offering its viewers a chance to watch the franchise in their exclusive property PIX Premiere Nights before anyone else in the country on 12 April.

PIX Premiere Nights is a proposition by Sony PIX where viewers get a chance to watch the premiere of latest Hollywood movies before its theatrical release in India. This year, for the first time, Sony PIX is hosting the screening across nine cities, namely Mumbai, New Delhi, Gurgaon, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune and Kochi in India for ‘Fast and Furious 8’.

The channel is running a special contest on their facebook page where fans can answer one simple question related to the ‘Fast & Furious franchise’ and win tickets to watch the movie.

CNN-News18 launches 'Face-Off at 9' & Viewpoint, more new shows in two weeks

CNN-News18 revamp part two: 'India 360' & 'The Crux' launched

With an aim to provide differentiated content to viewers, CNN-News18 recently initiated a revamp of its primetime with the launch of new shows - Face-Off At 9 at 9 PM and Viewpoint at 10 PM. Continuing with this process, the channel will unveil two more shows starting tonight at 8 PM with India 360 and The Crux at 8.30 PM. Anchored by the senior associate editor Arunoday Mukharji and the executive editor Anubha Bhonsle, respectively, the shows will add further to the channel’s primetime offering.
