no bro.i am cent percent sure,there is no space problem in adtv.they can easyly added nearly 10+ hd and some sd channels on existing 12 transponders of ses7 by using latest mpeg 4 dvb s2 technology.4 trans ponders have low s/r on ses7 and remaing tps also have some space to add sd and hd channel.but why they r not adding new channel? Becoz they r not compramising with pq.if they increse s/r of 4 tps they will add some more channels.

Ex: sun direct added 16 hd channels in 1 tp but airtel have added just 13 hd channel.seems adtv not compramising with quality.

MUMBAI: Rohit Gandhi has resigned as editor-in-chief of English news channel WION and English daily DNA India.

Confirming the news, Gandhi stated that the exit formalities are yet to be over.

Gandhi had joined Zee Media Corporation Ltd (ZMCL) in August 2015 to head the editorial operations of ZMCL’s English news channel WION. In April 2016, he was assigned additional charge as editor-in-chief of DNA, ZMCL’s English mainline daily.

Before joining ZMCL, Gandhi was with South Asian International News as international correspondent, producer and communication strategist. He was producer/editor at CNN from 2000 to 2006, specialising in conflict zone and investigative news coverage.

He later joined CBC, where he reported and produced news stories from Asia. He broke the news about the terrorist group behind the 2006 Mumbai train bombings that killed over 200 people. He was also deployed in Pakistan for three months to report on the Taliban. His work at CBC and PBS won him several awards including an Emmy for the Afghanistan war coverage in 2001.

MUMBAI: Arnab Goswami’s new TV and digital media tech company Republic has appointed Priya Mukherjee as the head of distribution.

Mukherjee will look after the entire distribution portfolio as Republic will be available across India and international markets.

Mukherjee has moved from Bloomberg Quint where she headed TV distribution. She brings with her 17 years of experience in the media industry with achievements in broadcasting and distribution operations. She has been part of the launch teams of several TV channels in India. She earlier worked with organisations such as Discovery Channel, One Alliance, Network18 and Den Networks.

Commenting on Mukherjee’s appointment, Republic founder Arnab Goswami said, “We are very excited to get Priya on board our growing Republic team. She’s an exceptional professional with an outstanding track record. She is an emerging young leader in the television business. Priya will work closely with our CEO Vikas Khanchandani to take us into every home in the country.”

MUMBAI: Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) senior executive vice president Neeraj Vyas is getting an expanded role. Vyas, who is currently heading the Hindi movies and music cluster of the company, will now also helm SAB TV.

Vyas’s new role follows the exit of SAB TV business head Anooj Kapoor, who is set to start his own venture.

“I am given the additional charge of business head of SAB TV,” Vyas confirmed to TelevisionPost.com.

Joining Sony in 1995, Vyas is currently in charge of Hindi movie channels Sony Max, Sony Max 2 and Sony Wah, music channel Sony Mix, and the newly launched Sony Rox HD.

He will now head SAB TV, a family comedy entertainment channel which is an important property in SPNI’s portfolio. Kapoor was a long-time champion of the growth of the channel.

Kapoor, whose association with SAB TV went back to 2007, had launched several hit shows such as ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’, ‘F.I.R.’, ‘Balveer’, ‘Lapataganj’, ‘Left Right Left’ and ‘Chidiya Ghar’ during his tenure.
