Broadcasters launches regional sports/entertainment channels only in the markets where hindi is understood by less people.
Thus it is simple logic that people who can't watch hindi program will tend to watch channel in their native language. E.g kannada, Tamil, telugu, Bangla.

Another thing to consider regional language sports channel is local content like kannada premier league in karnataka & TNPL in tamilnadu.

Punjabi language is similar to hindi. So there is no chance for star sports punjabi, Star sports bhojpuri, Star sports gujrathi, Star sports Marathi.

Punjabi,impossible because at least in past have they added Punjabi feed on any sports channel,never added so less chances of sports channel

But in last IPL Sony provided 3 audio feeds i.e tamil, telugu, bengali

Also ratings of Bangla entertainment channels are good.

So I thought scenario is similar to Tamil, telugu. Now edited.
