Its true. But surprised about the telecast on Flowers TV.While Star sports is the nationwide broadcaster how it goes to Flowers? Also Asianet is not in a good relationship with Flowers.

May be there was an individual bid for Malayalam telecasting. Flowers may had partnership with the event as a regional sponser or something like. Since this is not a league or big property Star is likely not spending much money for this.

Because Asianet is owned by Star Network only. So they already have coverage in Kerala through Start Sports and there is no use of paying again. It is like paying twice for telecasting in 1 state on TV. Hotstar is online telecast. So, may be thats why the Flowers TV got the regional rights to telecast.

The broadcaster, which has managed to bring more than 40 advertisers on television, is estimated to have clocked close to Rs 200 crore in advertising revenue. The 2014 edition of FIFA World Cup fetched the network Rs 100 crore of ad revenue.

“The response to the tournament has been outstanding. The average rate of 10 second long ad spot was over Rs 6 lakh which is quite an encouraging figure,” said Rohit Gupta, president - network sales and international business, Sony Pictures Networks (SPN).

Sony earned Rs 200 crore ad revenue from FIFA World Cup
