Actually this channel is in 16:9 aspect ratio (same as HD channels). That's why the watermark doesn't stretch like the other SD channels.
Regular SD channels are in 4:3 aspect ratio. So when it stretched to 16:9, the watermark gets stretched along with it and look bigger.
If you watch SD channel in old CRT TVs or even on TataPlay app/website (without zooming/stretching), you will see that the watermark size is just like HD channels.

Well u r partially correct but this is not the exact reason.

There could b 3 reasons for small logo on TV5Monde Asie

- First can b that they have implemented standard logo directly on all SD or downscaled HD channels which have 16:9 video aspect ratio from broadcaster end. Thrrefore we r getting small logo on HD tv sets. But this can b discarded as many international channels or ones like Epic, 1Sports, Eurosports SD have big logo

- Second reason could b that they have implemented standard logo on SD chs where original HD feed is being downlinked and then downscaed to SD maintaning 16:9 aspect ratio . Thus we get the small logo bcoz of logo added in 16: 9 feed directly instead of adding it by converting it to Pillar Box 4:3 aspect ratio. This could also b rejected as a reason as ABC Australia does have big logo

- 3rd reason is most valid one which is that its is dependent on decoder of respective channels, if channel gets displayed in 16:9 aspect ratio on their screen then standard logo is added on it be it for SD (downscaled HD Feed) or HD chs while as SD chs must be reflecting on their screen in pillar boc 4:3 aspect ratio and when standard logo is added on it qe get stretched big logo on our HD TV sets. Also for such channels a feature is enabled from operator end that when a subscriber has comnected HD / 4K / Binge box thru AV Cable to any TV then in aspect ratio settings of ur box u can select to receive 16:9 content in letter box format.

All in all this has complex answer

As I said TP started playing with their customers and joined with other DTH process of channels removal.

Hope TP will reduce compression on HD channels when they get new satellite. The true natural colours are missing on most HD channels because of heavy compression
