Good now one can get all fta chs of dishtv without any cost if he has pay ch. It seems similar to Sun dth
Essel Group and it's partner network are giving FTA channels without NCF. Imo it is a brilliant strategy as they get to make good amount of carriage fee from FTA broadcasters.

Under TRAI tariff order if a ch gets 20% penetration of DPO's total subscribers then that ch will not pay any carriage fee

Then I don't get the SITI cable's strategy of forcing users to subscribe for FTA channels without NCF.

  • The NCF being charged by Dish TV is mentioned in the below table:

Mandatory DD
channels
Pay channels (SD)NCF payable by
Subscriber (Rs.)
(taxes extra)
25Up to 75130
2576 to 100150
25101 to 125170
25>125190

  • In case any subscriber wants to avail only Free to Air (FTA) channel, the NCF will be Rs. 130 plus taxes.
  • No NCF on FTA channels if any pay channels selected
For the purpose of calculation of no. of pay channels (to identify the NCF payable) 1 HD pay channel shall be calculated as 2 SD pay channels.
But they can waive off NCF ? Why they are playing like this ?
