Yes, you see right. This is confirm news from ceo office. Dispute between isro and tata sky is because pricing of tp. Tata sky already done a agreement and paid some amount to isro but now isro want to lease tp as current price but tata sky decline to do so thats why we decide to move on mpeg4. Tata sky need 20 to 25 tp in future after expire insat life, till date we can arrange 350+ sd and 50+ hd channels.
So no new tp but many channels are in line up. Mpeg4 migration is expected to complete in next 5-6 months.

so, after insat 4, tatasky will shut down ???????

':):)-/:s:skd:dodgy Where Is Md Anzar ??

So now MPEG4 migration which had to finish by June 2014 will not finish by then?
I think for states like Kerla, Tamilnadu it was easy to migrate as there must be very less number of consumers in those states owning to low number of regional channels earlier. So changing STB and making new subscribers were easy.

Now for parts where tata sky has large base (places like Maharashtra for which all Marathi channels were available and hence large Tata Sky base), the change of boxes is bound to take time.

Certainly if they have this kind of strategy of not taking GSAT 10 and depending on ISRO again (after suffering for 4 years from 2009 till date in wait of ISRO's GSAT-10) then god help Tata Sky after 2017.

But I Think Tata Sky Should Plan Something For Their Future
