Better you can go for C band dish @Karthik, if the channels are available FTA... I have no knowledge of the channels being FTA on c band , as i am new to c band, and currently studying each satellite individually...

GreatKarthik, TV5 Monde Asie is a free channel in MPEG2 on Asiasat3S, which means even a cheap DD Direct Plus set-top box can receive it.

Get a 90cm to 100cm Ku-band dish if you have space problem. Else go for a 6 feet solid petals dish.

However thinking of being future-proof, an MPEG4 DVB-S2 HD box is recommended.

We can ask first why dish tv is giving upscaled hd channels? If they could have answered this question, they could have answered for tv 5 monde too... @great karthik
