The InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) recently announced the opening of its Global Sales Office (GSO) in India. Located in New Delhi and Mumbai, the GSO will allow IHG to drive increased business efficiency, better serve its key clients and bring the strength of IHG’s global scale to this fast growing market.

According to the company release, given the robust outlook for India’s tourism and hospitality industry, the GSO will address India’s increasing outbound tourism market. The GSO will offer IHG’s key clients in India a single point of contact to access its global hotel inventory of over 6,50,000 rooms (more than 4,400 hotels) across seven different brands.

Chris Moloney, Chief Operating Officer, South West Asia, IHG said, “We are positioning ourselves for future growth in India and are making significant investments in people and facilities. The establishment of the GSO is a part of that strategy. By streamlining our sales office, we can better meet the needs of our customer’s, offer more customised stays and meetings options and drive great benefits to them by leveraging IHG’s system size.”

Leanne Harwood, Director Sales, Asia Australasia and Director Commercial South East Asia, IHG said, “We are excited to launch the GSO in India. As India and Indian companies grow at a rapid pace, there is strong need to align resources and collectively meet the demands of a high growth economy. The GSO exhibits IHG’s focused strategy of using the global nature and scale economies of our business to operate a highly efficient support infrastructure for our hotels, as well as for our customers.”
