Uttar Pradesh a state that contributes third highest GST contributor which has an upcoming film city rivaling bollywood content gets ignored. They are just being ignorant here. Irony here is Star using one of the biggest bhojwood star for their TV programming while not pushing any of her past content.

Bcoz Star/Disney has nor channel in Bhojpuri language....hence there is no original content produced by them available on their channels or OTT platforms . Bhojpuri Movie / TV Shows r available on Regional OTT apps as they have acquired the rights for such content

Bhojpuri content is available on many other Regional OTT platforms
They came into existence long after Hotstar released. On top of that South also has lots of regional OTT platforms. Than Star can shut operations in South and let them compete against each other.

Why can't they acquire movies for the OTT platform?

Defend all you want. Star has bias towards South. Most successful Star Plus shows are nowadays inspired from their Bengali GEC Star Jalsha. They know the potential of Bengali market. Yet, they spent not one cent to produce any Bengali OTT original. Meanwhile Zee does same. Even Hoichoi is a successful company.

Hotstar is ignoring languages which are being used very often. There is directly or indirectly biasedness or ignorance. they aren't evaluating further options for audience. Okay, for some moment if we admit that hotstar is not giving importance to one language, but not adding required languages also which is not good at all.

I believe same is the case for other prominent OTT platforms of different broadcasters too . You will get to see regonal content on zee5, disney+hotstar, sonyliv, voot based on content they acquire, produce or dub.

If a broadcaster has more regional channels then it is likely that regional content quantity will b more on their OTT Platforms.... They do also acquire content from outside but sane gets split across various OTT platforms. Most of the regional content cannot b made available in hindi and vice versa...as far as dubbed hollywood movies is concerned again market dynamics and business viability r taken into consideration while dubbing a content in regional / hindi Language or even for launching a new channel in any genre. You can keep sending feedback to various broadcasters / platforms for content u wish to see on their linear and OTT platforms

They do but in most cases these get also acquired by rival major and regional OTT platforms.
What about dubbed Hindi rights?

Aren't they making available so much content in Bengali on their linear tv channels and OTT platforms? I am sure many hindi serials / movies dubbed in bengali would also b airing on their channels.

You can agree or not but in regions where hindi is understood in most parts there would b limited hindi TV shows or movies which will b dubbed in that native language and aired. This is not bias but pure business logic hence u will see less of such content on Bengali channels but as bengali language is not properly understood in Hindi Speaking States hence there would b much more remakes of bengali shows or dubbed bengali content made available in these regions across linear and ott platforms.

Tomorrow if any broadcaster or studio thinks that releasing hollywood movies dubbed in bengali or airing same on tv channels or making available on OTT platforms is need of the hour and a financially viable decision then same will surely b done.

There is no question of bias. Also there r so many regional language channels and their OTT Platform which need to take above initiatives and some r already doing same. You cannot hope that Star, Sony/Zee, Viacom18 take all responsibility for it
