Janam TV partners with Harmonic for High Tech video delivery solutions
Kerala-based Janam TV has partnered with Harmonic for end-to-end news production and broadcast solutions. The channel was launched on 19th April and offers a mix of education, news and entertainment programs.
Harmonic has provided the broadcaster with a media server called Harmonic Spectrum MediaCenter as well as Harmonic Ellipse® 3100 contribution encoder and ProView™ 7100 integrated receiver-decoder (IRD), stream processor and transcoder.
The video delivery infrastructure provider says that its equipment will help Janam TV deliver content in high video quality.
“The solution being deployed by Janam TV offers all these benefits, as well as exceptional ongoing support from RGB Broadcasting, an experienced Harmonic partner in the region,” said Dan Taylor, general manager, India, at Harmonic.
“Working with the Harmonic infrastructure and taking advantage of RGB Broadcasting’s expertise, we are positioned to build a smart, efficient workflow for quality TV broadcasts,” said P. Viswaroopan, managing director at Janam TV.
Kerala-based channel, Sakhi TV, had recently announced a technology agreement with Harmonic. The video delivery company also has ties with Live India, which is New Delhi based news channel owned by Broadcast Initiatives.
