Guys stop bashing compression because there ain't a video format which doesn't compress videos. Even MPEG-1 uses compression. If you want truly uncompressed video for PAL SD format will require 20 MB/second and Full HDMI format requires 150 MB/second. If we followed such purist ideas we would not have so many channels as we have today. Investing in better compression algorithm will give us better quality for less data. The actual picture quality levels can be still maintained.

But using HEVC, may be better option than leasing additional TP in airtel point of view

Firmware update is mentioned in the press release.
Wait & see
If the existing STB can handle complex process of HEVC , through firmware update, then success.
otherwise all STB to be replaced, if that is cheaper than leasing additional TP, then definitely Airtel will go for it.

I am sure it has already been done. Bcoz article said Airtel has deployed, it doesn't said Airtel will deploy :k

So everything is in airtel's end not in customers end. For customers just tune HD and watch it :ohya
