Discussion Late fee charged by DTH operators.

Perhaps for storing your information on their servers during inactivity period?

If this is the logic, then customer should backcharge dth operators as customers have to store dth equipments in their house without anyuse after recharge gets over.
PS- equipment is property of operators.

They are not providing any channel without balance then what's requirement of re-activation charge, it's not like they have to manually do something for reactivation. I think Airtel charges Rs 15 for user on less than Rs 350 monthly plan and Rs 20 for those whose monthly subscription is more than Rs 350 which again makes no sense as none of them can watch anything without balance.

Actually airtel calls it Idle Maintenance Fee, they maintain that in suspension period subscriber account management is still worked upon by them and this is a fee for providing this service. Well they do reverse the charges if u call and state valid reason which caused delay in recharge

They didn't reverse the charges even after complaining twice, for the recharge done on the same day after expiry..

Compared to all DTH operators Airtel doesn't have any discounts on NCF for any of the packs..

Previously it had some discounts for 6M packs, now those r also revised..

Sundirect - U will get Sun Network channels for free

Tatasky - Lite packs

D2H / Dish - Many packs with varying NCF

My Tatasky connection doesn't charge anything like late charges for doing recharge after expiry..

On the other hand, still finding difficult to see the T&C of airtel Late fees charges

Yes, if u select the Lite packs (Hindi lite, kannada lite, telugu/tamil lite etc).. U will find it under Curated packs section

Airtel provides NCF discount even on monthly plans. OR keep your account suspended for few weeks you'll get massive discount on your monthly plan.
