Asianet had lined up about 8 premiere movies this onam season. But Kerala is suffering due to flood, they cut down it tremendously. Now in onam days Asianet is telecasting only one premiere movie 'Mersal' that too a dubbed movie they planned to premiere it last sunday.Rest are repeats. But IMO they have to telecast 1 or 2 Malayalam premieres instead of a dubbed one. This is the first time in Malayalam television. Normally Asianet premieres 8-10 movies each season. Following the path other channels may also cut down their movies.

Janam tv is not a pure Gec.its news oriented.Jahind,Jeevan also come this category.

Didn't see any general entertainment programme in Janam. In that case, Media ONE has some entertainment programmes. Still both are generally counted as News channels.
GEC+News are put under GEC to limit categories.
Jaihind, Kairali, Jeevan, Surya, Kairali, Amrita have news bulletins.

If Surya tv is the market leader they will definitely launch maximum sub channels in Malayalam equal to other languages.Asianet is not aggressive in launching channels bulky. Asianet Music, Asianet Comedy, Asianet classic etc. But they should soon launch Asianet movies HD.

This week a huge drop in TRP of Malayalam channels can be expected due to floods. Still most channels aren't came to normal stage.
