Manthan Broadband Services Private Limited in association with Unition Channel (UC) has launched its digital cable service in Dibrugarh.
The Government of India has made digitization of cable television services mandatory across the country by the end of 2014.
Manthan is Eastern India's single largest multi system operator and has its presence in West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Shillong and more.
Viewers can now be able to access better picture and sound quality and enhanced services via the service.
Biswajit Barkakoty, Northeast Business Organiser, Manthan Broadband Services Private Limited said that viewers will now be able to choose and pay for only those channels that they want. He added that the Digitization Bill will help prevent local cable operators from deciding the mix and price of channels according to locality and customer base.
