No you can't use it in normal TV.
Even many LCD don't have optical IN port.
Co-axial cable is similar in looks to normal RCA AV cable, but in orange color.
Optical cable is different cable , you can cheak here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TOSLINK
You need separate AV-receiver or Home Theater system for this.
Do remember first check for optical/co-axial port in home theater system before buying.
