I think Arasu hve got provisional CAS license..
Will they get the provisional DAS license?..

Arasu has CAS license, but not DAS license.
SCV only have all the license (CAS/DAS etc..etc). TRAI is very very happey to give all license to SCV.
Where whole india removed the CAS system, how come chennai alone strict with CAS for more than 10 years..too strange..

Any new info about Arasu cable.?...

Nopes, no new news. Before i used to search for Arasu in news every day, then it became a few times in a week, then once in a week, few times in a few weeks, now i barely search it and may be soon i may even forget it, may be this is exactly what they want from us... to forget them.

TRAI seems to be confident in denying DAS licensing to Arasu and Arasu doesn't seem to be interested in entering Chennai for some reasons, DAS License issue may not be the only reason otherwise they could have easily entered with the available CAS license and dragged the case and delayed DAS as long as possible and people would have got cable service with pay channels at Rs 70 or Rs 100.

Also Arasu hasn't even advertised the package details nor seem to have plans for it, so even if Arasu comes knocking every doors people will ask atleast these 3 questions (though i would be happy with what ever they give and desperately want them),

1: Who are the LCO linked with Arasu?
2: Why is Arasu STB so costly than the others and why cant you lower it to Rs 600/800 as priced by other MSO's across the nation?
3: Can you name all your CAS/DAS packages and list all the channels in it?

Arasu seems not to have answers to any of the above basic questions.

Arasu has already announced that the Rs 70 pack will be basic package and people have to pay more for Pay channels, so people will definitely ask for the package details so unless they have answers to all the above 3 basic questions its hard for them to even try entering Chennai.

U're rite.. another fact is if a subscriber in TN goes to DTH, he will be paying 30% entertainment tax to state govt which is greater revenue than Arasu cable subscriber. So I think TN govt happy with that revenue.
Some of u have said that 300 channels for 160Rs in Arasu cable..
Its really a great pack.. We cant do anything rather than waiting until central govt elections...:wall

I agree that DTH may fetch more revenue for the state Govt, but Arasu cable is their electoral promise and i hope they will do something about it before another election passes. :) :sp

Yes, an LCO seems to have said 300 channels for 160 Rs, but nothing official so far from Arasu, with CAS license in hand nothing can stop them from displaying a package detail, and that too when they are making other official announcements for non-chennai Areas.

News are surfacing that they have started to put pressure on MSO's in Coimbatore to stop their DAS, but on the contrary they have done absolutely nothing in Chennai and not even some worthful AD's, so as far as Chennai is concerned Arasu is non-existent, and they seem to want the same.

my LCO told this month he will give Arasu STB but he dont know abt packages....

Good.

My LCO sticks with SCV and I just gave my current months subscription so there may not be any large changes for the next 30 days.
