Are you using wpa3 wifi encryption ?

If yes then lower your encryption to wpa2 aes and it will work.

I have done screen cast using Mobile hotspot, WiFi and google home app. But nowadays I can't. But screen cast is possible, using vlc media player

For Google home app, youtube etc no need to connect phone and stb to same wifi network but for other apps must connect to same wifi network

Contact customercare, they will arrange technician visit for replace set top box, but they will charge for set top box, if it's under warranty period means they will given free set top box, btw if u have external wifi adapter, try it's working or not
