Off-topic: TS still has:
  • Baby TV (SD: 677, HD: 676)
  • NGP (SD: 757, HD: 756)
  • NGM (SD only; 859)
TS was asked to remove Nat Geo Music HD from 858. This was a clear sign that these international channels don't have a future in this country. Soon we may see the removal of the remaining five as well. Since NGP is an Asian channel (NGM and Baby TV are European channels), NGP will be restricted to Asian countries like Singapore hereafter. (When we speak of TV networks, Asia always refers to Eastern and Southeast Asia. India is NOT considered to be part of Asia.)

Nat Geo Wild was very lucky. Originally it too (as well as NGC HD, not SD) was an Asian feed. But both NGC SD/HD and NGW SD/HD have a completely Indian feed since February 2016. Who knows what would have happened to NGW if it didn't get an Indian feed. :cf2:

Nat Geo Music HD is shutting down. SD feed will stay for now. Same will be the fate of Nat Geo People HD.

No need to worry. We might get most of the Nat Geo People's shows on Fox Life.

Nat Geo People is far better brother and Fox Life is in nowhere close to them interms of content aired. Fox Life just airs food related shows while Nat Geo People explores other facets of lifestyle too. In India sadly all lifestyle channels restrict to just cookery or food shows and as usual we miss out on variety

I really hope to see more Asian Feed international channels in India rather than local feeds with limited content. Major reason for broadcasters launching separate feed for India is the ad driven model followed here while for rest of asia subscription is the defining factor.

Even if some international channel wants to come here , most of us will refrain from paying for it. There is one other option where local ads can be inserted in international feed like BBC News does or Star did in NG Wild Asia Feed but again many ads can't fit in due to small break slots available in these feeds. Even in 2nd option subscription will have to take some burden.

Too many good channels like Da vinci learning, Fox Crime, FX, Fox Sports News, MGM, TCM, etc. already exited bcoz of this and now Nat Geo People, Baby TV seems latest casualty. Few good channels like Insight TV which planned entering India changed mind due to tough operating conditions

FX and Fox Crime were English equivalent of Star Utsav. It aired mostly reruns of Star World. I watched 4 reruns of 8 simple rules on FX from 2014 until early 2015. Only after that they started airing new shows like The Americans, Empire and The Affair. But it was too late. Colors Infinity came an destroyed them badly with instant premiers.

Brother i was quoting with reference to Asian Feed we used to get during initial period, Indian Feed was started much much later and as usual aired stale content. My above post specifically is in relation to original international or asian feed of big channels.
