No sound output on boat soundbar from xstream box

Hi,
I recently purchased boat avante soundbar 1580 and I am connecting it to my xstream STB via optical cable, and the STB is connected to TV via HDMI.
But, I am not getting any output in the soundbar. I have to restart the STB (Switch off and on again) to get the output. Even if I put the STB in standby and power it on again there is no output. Is this a bug in STB's software or it's a fault and I need to replace the STB?

What is your sound output mode in xstreme box ,is it auto or manual
